The Real Global Warming

Global warming is one of the hot-button issues of our day.

ClimateHotMap.org highlights four "manifestations of a widespread and long-term trend toward warmer global temperatures as projected by models of a changing climate," which they call "fingerprints."

These include: "heat waves and periods of unusually warm weather; ocean warming, sea-level rise and coastal flooding; glaciers melting; and Arctic and Antarctic warming" (http://www.climatehotmap.org/fingerprints.html).

On the other hand, Sen. James Inhofe, chairman of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, delivered a speech on the Senate Floor on Sept. 25, 2006. In it he made some interesting statements:

"Since 1895, the media has alternated between global cooling and warming scares during four separate and sometimes overlapping time periods. From 1895 until the 1930's the media peddled a coming ice age.

"From the late 1920's until the 1960's they warned of global warming. From the 1950's until the 1970's they warned us again of a coming ice age. This makes modern global warming the fourth estate’s fourth attempt to promote opposing climate change fears during the last 100 years.

"Recently, advocates of alarmism have grown increasingly desperate to try to convince the public that global warming is the greatest moral issue of our generation. Just last week, the vice president of London’s Royal Society sent a chilling letter to the media encouraging them to stifle the voices of scientists skeptical of climate alarmism."

One thing I know is that the far north used to be warm, then it became cold, and then it began to warm again, and man had nothing whatever to do with any of the changes. Frozen mammoths, rhinoceroses, and other animals from temperate climes have been found in Siberia and Alaska. Fossil forests have been found inside the Arctic Circle. It had been warmer, then it froze, and now it is getting warmer. Who or what caused those climate changes?

I also know that this earth is slated for real global warming, and man will have nothing to do with that, either. Some time in the future, God will punish people on earth for their evil by altering the sun to sear the earth with heat. Men will blaspheme God because of the scorching heat, but they still will not repent of their evil and give Him credit (Revelation 16:8-9 ). If that isn’t enough, consider this: The day is coming "in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be burned up" (2 Peter 3:10).

My advice? Start worrying about the real global warming and get right with God!
